I'm throwing a twitter shout out for your Dracula article right now.

That's two votes for ManBat. May have to get Professor Alan involved to do it justice though. He's the REAL expert on the character.SonOfCthulhuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10360440962585168404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8052944325241602065.post-515410072608759082017-10-31T04:05:17.404-07:002017-10-31T04:05:17.404-07:00Added to show some love. There's more here in the Crapbox to discover, only not all of it is good. :)SonOfCthulhuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10360440962585168404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8052944325241602065.post-4164417889559097542017-10-31T03:03:00.974-07:002017-10-31T03:03:00.974-07:00I really like Bolton's art a lot, but am reall...I really like Bolton's art a lot, but am really only familiar with his painted work on things like Books of Magic and Manbat. . .until now! Another great review that gives me a look at something new. I've really come to appreciate this blog for that very reason and once again I thank you for all your hard work. By the way, Manbat is a great series. It's prestige format, so I don't know if you can easily find it in your local crapbox. For Batman, it's a very dark story that really seems like it should have been put under the Vertigo banner, but the star of the show is that fantastic painted art by Bolton. I mean you had John Byrne, then Dave Cockrum, and none of them synched up with the cover art.
Anyhoo, yes, John Bolton is a damn talented artist who reminds me of similar styled-artists like Gray Marrow, Marshal Rogers, and others like that.
Didn't know he drew a Man-Bat series, but I'll be sure to look out for that one, and this one, the Halls of Horror. Never heard of this till now, and wow. And yes, you're 100% right, they probably should've stayed in B&W with the exception of the covers and maybe the last pages.

I'm Mr. Morbid btw, and if you're interested, I too have a blog, called Mr. Morbid's House Of Fun:
http://dbsuniverse.blogspot.com
If you're familiar with Robot Chicken, Wizard Magazine and Toyfare, then you'll understand the type of potty humor I employ over there, but with action figures.
Mr. Morbid's House Of Funhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06721085161381688977noreply@blogger.com
